new work

Meesh_drawer_pulls_wq
i just added to new work to my shop! my favorite new thing is the flower drawer/cabinet pulls. i will be updating my shop more frequently. so check back often for little surprises. i will only send out email announcements for bigger updates.

i also wanted to thank those of you who have emailed out of concern about my last post. without saying too much, i will say this for now. i think it is really hard for people to stay married forever. we are doing our best to work through this in a positive way, without lawyers. our money needs to go to productive things. i will let you know how it goes. i believe it's important to share our experiences. by doing so, it helps to not feel so alone.

on a brighter hue, it's a beautiful summer evening and there is a cool breeze blowing, making the leaves on the trees dance.

truthiness

Train_window train window on my way to tacoma last summer

Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such.  -henry miller

i've been busy in the studio for months now creating lots of things. last summer steve painted the walls in my studio 'mineral red'. i've enjoyed spending the cool rainy winter/spring months out here. hulled up working in my beautiful space. it's my fancy fort to play in.

i haven't been very good at keeping up my blog. i received a letter of complaint from gramma gail (steve's mom). she wants me to post more photos of the boys. she's not the only one who has requested this.

the truth is the past year (really two years or more) have been difficult here. some of you know steve has been dealing with a chronic illness. out of respect for his privacy i won't say too much about it. except his health is finally improving and the heaviness is lifting around here. i think to cope sometimes we just 'check out' a bit. it's safer to suffer quietly than open up and share the hard stuff. of course this isn't the best approach but it's the road i took.

preparing for bead and button this year was fun. i was inspired and happy to work long hours in the studio. i arrived in milwaukee with a ton of stuff (literally) but felt free to be happy for the first time in a long while. on top of that i had an excellent show.

i'm now preparing for the puget sound bead festival. not as enthusiastically as i did for bead and button. as the sun is shining and the sky is blue. i would rather swing at the park all afternoon with the boys. there will be time for that in a few more weeks.

home

Lincoln_cityoregon coast - last summer

i'm home from a successful bead and button show! as always i loved seeing my buddies. a big thank you to all of you who stopped by to say hello. gail lannum is the best booth helper ever. thank you gail!

steph and i sold several big pieces at the show. which means we get to continue playing together. yay!

i'm unpacked and back to work in the studio, getting ready for the puget sound bead festival in a few weeks. my boys are officially on summer vacation. i want to  get in the car and hit the road for an adventure. that will have to wait until august.
